Engine Disassembly

The engine as advertised on eBay.
The engine as advertised on eBay. Side view of engine. How about those headers?! Future aircraft engine in the back of the truck. 29.95 for 4 hours or less..... Mounted on the engine stand. Close-up of the distributor and other parts.... The cooling fan with the top sheetmetal removed. The crankshaft and connecting rods. Everything looks good, so far. More of the sheetmetal gone, and ready to remove those huge headers.
It took four of us to lift the complete engine into the back of the truck. But I don't have four of me,. so I rented an engine crane to get it out. Rental sometimes maks sense (and cents!) I could have purchased a new one for a bit over $100.00, but I won't need it again until I put it in the plane. And there is always the problem of storage. So I'd better hurry, less than 4 hours.... I did purchase an engine stand, as the engine will reside there for a number of months. Most important, it puts it at a nice height to work, and is much safer than an old milk crate.... ... most of which will go directly into the trash. A few will be sent in as a "core", to be re-built specificly for aircraft use.
