New Mexico Symphony Orchestra Chorus

2001-2002 Season

(All concerts at Popejoy Hall on the UNM campus except where indicated):

• Christmas concert including Respighi's Nativity and the Pinckham Christmas Cantata, December 7/8/9.
• Janacek, Glagolitic Mass---in the Glagolitic language (an ancestor of Bulgarian and Slavonic), February 22/23, 2002.
• Beethoven, Choral Fantasy, May 3/4.
• At the end of the season, we plan to record a chorus-only CD in the most glorious acoustic space I've ever sung in---the Spencer Theatre in Ruidoso, NM. Tentative repertoire includes Britten's Hymn to St. Cecilia, Gretchaninoff's Holy Radiant Night, some of the Schubert songs for male chorus, and a world premiere of a work by our own Alf Houkom.
