PML Endeavour

(Screaming Yellow Zonker!)

Description

4" Diameter, 71" Tall, 7.5 Lbs, 54mm Motor Tube (With 38 & 29mm Adaptors)

My first PML kit.  I wanted to try their new "Quantum" Tubes.  I built this kit to factory spec's, in spite of the problems I've heard concerning the piston system that PML uses.  I used medium cure (15 minute) epoxy on most of the interior joints, and used West Systems epoxy with the 205 hardener, thickened with micro balloon for the exterior fillets.  Rather than gluing the coupler into the payload section, I used screws, so that I can modify the rocket later for electronics.  I added a standard clip type motor retainer, and added thick layers of epoxy on the lower adaptor ring, and on the piston and payload bulkheads.  The finished rocket weighs just over 7 pounds.

9-2000 - Had to rebuild - new fin, new payload section, new paint job.  Looks MUCH nicer now!

5-2001 - New name!  While going down the snack isle at the local grocery store, it hit me!  "Screaming Yellow Zonker"!  Perfect!
