In May of 1996 Beth attended the first Cub Leader Training Wood Badge course ever held at Philmont Scout Ranch. She was in the Fox Patrol, and came back from Wood Badge worn out, pumped up, and raring to go! She had an incredible experience there!
In August of 1996 I was fortunate to attend a week long Wood Badge course at Philmont Scout Ranch in Northern New Mexico. It was 8 days of intensive Boy Scout Leader training in Troop leadership skills and operation. It was tough, relentless work, consisting of long days and very short nights. And it was one of the best experiences I've ever had!
3-9-98 - Both Beth and I received our Wood Badge beads in a double ceremony on March 8, 1998. It was a great experience, and I want to thank each and every person that graced our ceremony with their presence! A special thank you to Cory and Leslie Moffett, and Shanna Payne, who drove all the way from Salt Lake City just to attend! Thanks again to everyone who was on one of our courses, helped us with completing our tickets, and for putting up with us during the past two years! We love you all!

It's been ten years now since the Fox Patrol first got together at Zastro. As far as I know, everyone but Bruce and Bob finished, and got their beads. Bob moved, and no one seems to know where he is or what he is doing. Bruce moved to Silver City, and has dropped out of the Scouting program. It's too bad that these two guys did not complete the program, but for the rest of us, it has been training and experiences that we will use and cherish for the rest of our lives. If YOU are contemplating going to Wood Badge, DO IT! You will not be sorry!
