Hi There! My name
is Dave Bregar, and I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
I'm a
Scouter.
What's a
Scouter?
Well...
If
you are paid to do Scouting, you are called a
professional;
If
you don't get paid to do Scouting, you're a volunteer;
But,
if you PAY to do Scouting, then you are a
SCOUTER!

- In my spare time I work for a
computer
company, and am a vocal
musician with the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra Chorus.
I have
two sons. Matt, 29, graduated from the University of New
Mexico in 2000 and was married in April of 1999. He and his wife Kim live
in Monroe, WA, and own a restaurant in Mill Creek, WA named Zinnia. Tommy, 23,
graduated from Sandia High School in May of 2002, and from TVI
in 2005.
Tommy is also living in Washington, and works as an assistant chef at
Zinnia. My lovely wife,
Beth, and I have
been married for 30+ fantastic years. I serve on the Council Camping Committee, and am a climbing instructor
for the council. I'll be teaching climbing at
NCS - Camp Lassen, northern
California, in the spring of 2007. We have a "Boy Scouting Family". Beth
works for the BSA at the local Council office, is the Sandia District Training
Chairman, and serves on Cub Scout Roundtable staff. Beth received the
Silver Beaver award in 2001! She attended Cub Scout Trainer Wood Badge at Philmont
in 1996,and I attended Boy Scout Wood Badge in August of
1996, also at Philmont. We are both in the Fox Den / Patrol! Beth
and I both served on the Council Wood
Badge staff
for 2003-2006. Matt is an Eagle Scout,
and Tommy obtained life. Our entire family is in the Order of the Arrow, and
we are all Brotherhood. Tommy was the vice-chief of administration for
Lodge 66. This selection of pages is our
family's "Scouting" addition to the Web! Enjoy!
- In my spare time (when I'm not
working!) I also enjoy Ham Radio (My call is KA5LHQ), woodworking, high
power rocketry, and Backpacking. Tommy, Matt, Eric Frieda, and
myself backpacked a portion of the Appalachian
Trail in Vermont in 2003. I'm also learning to fly, and hope to
have my private pilots license soon.
- Matt and I spent our 1996 Summer
vacation at Philmont Scout Ranch with other Scouts from
Troop 381. Philmont is the largest camping facility in
the world, and is located in North-Eastern New Mexico. Click here for a reprint of my journal about our Trek (709-H)!
- I was fortunate to attend a Boy Scout Wood Badge course at Philmont in August, 1996! It was
course SR-173, and I was in the Fox Patrol. What a great
experience!
- Tommy and I went on a Trek (705-F2)
at Philmont in 1999! 95 miles is a LONG walk! Click Here for
the "Blister Buster" newsletter, which
I wrote for the Trek Crews. And Click
Here for my journal from our trek. We had a real
"mountain-top" experience!
- Tommy and I went back to Philmont in July of
2001! Our trek was great!
- Crew 1337 attended the Kanik
winter camping program at Philmont in 2003. Great program!
I hope you enjoy your visit to these pages! Please
let me know if there is anything I can do to help you in your Scouting
adventures!
